Special Presentation: A New Beginning – Johnson’s Shut-Ins State Park

In the fall of 2007, AmerenUE sponsored a special presentation on KSDK-TV, Channel 5, to tell the story of what happened to Missouri's popular park after a 600-foot breach at AmerenUE Taum Sauk Plant Upper Reservoir released a billion gallons of water―sending trees, boulders, silt and debris down a mountain into Johnson's Shut-Ins State Park. The broadcast covered how the more than $40 million AmerenUE has spent to clean up and restore the park has changed it and improved water quality in the Black River.
