AmerenUE Presents Check to St. Louis Live Steamers

January 24, 2007

Ken Schmidt, AmerenUE Twin Rivers division manager, presents a $5,000 check to the City of Eureka for the St. Louis Live Steamers, a not-for-profit organization that presents live steam locomotives. The funds will help provide for new installations and track layouts in Kircher Park, just off of I-44 and Williams Road. The city also has plans for a new visitor’s center and a steam railroading exhibit to provide historical and educational background to the community.

“We feel it will be a big asset for the residents of the City of Eureka and regional area providing a safe, family-friendly venue to see, hear and experience model large-scale live steam locomotive operations when completed,” said Eureka Mayor Kevin Coffey.
