This fall, AmerenUE joined the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Home Performance with ENERGY STARŪ and the EarthWays Center, a division of the Missouri Botanical Garden, in sponsoring the Greater St. Louis Regional Home Energy Efficiency Makeover Contest―the first of its kind in Missouri.
Shown in the photo (from left) are Dennis Henson, career engineer at AmerenUE's Boone Trails Division, and Glenda Abney, manager of the EarthWays Center, with the grand prize winners, Jeffrey and Kristi Lay, of St. Peters, MO. The Lays are receiving up to $10,000 (retail value) in assessments to diagnose what energy efficiency improvements are needed and to fund the recommended energy-related home improvements.
A U.S. Department of Energy program to promote energy efficiency, the ENERGY STARŪ home makeover initiative takes a “whole house” comprehensive approach to making homes safer, more comfortable and significantly more energy efficient. This program is one of more than 20 programs Ameren companies are launching to encourage energy efficiency.
