Forest ReLeaf Dedicates Demonstration Garden; AmerenUE Major Sponsor

June 8, 2007

At a June 7 dedication for Forest ReLeaf's new CommuniTree Gardens, Nancy von Brecht, the organization's executive director, explained the importance of the new nursery as a demonstration site for native and utility-friendly trees, for site selection, use of proper planting techniques and tree care. On the stage at the dedication were (from left) Cynthia Metcalfe, Missouri Department of Conservation; John Hoskins, director, Missouri Department of Conservation; and St. Louis County Executive Director Charlie Doolie. Seated next to the speaker is former KSDK-TV anchorwoman Karen Foss (fourth from left). Foss is now vice president of public relations for AmerenUE. Next to Foss (not shown) was Missouri State Rep. Al Liese (D-79th) and then the president of the Forest ReLeaf Board, Christopher Erker.

Planting a first tree at the event are St. Louis County Executive Charlie Dooley (left) and Ameren Manager of Safety and Resource Management Ray Wiesehan. AmerenUE is a major sponsor of Forest ReLeaf of Missouri―a not-for-profit organization dedicated to inspiring volunteer efforts in planting and caring for Missouri's trees and forests.
