Charles D. Naslund is chairman, president and chief executive officer, AmerenEnergy Resources, and chairman and president, AmerenEnergy Generating Company.
AmerenEnergy Resources is an integrated energy commodity company for non-rate-regulated generation, development and marketing companies, including Ameren Energy Marketing and AmerenEnergy Generating. AmerenEnergy Generating owns more than 6,000 megawatts of generating capacity.
Previously Mr. Naslund had served as senior vice president and chief nuclear officer of Ameren Corporation. He was named vice president, Nuclear Operations, in 2004, and vice president, Power Operations, AmerenUE, since 1999.
Mr. Naslund joined AmerenUE in 1974 as an assistant engineer in Engineering and Construction. He later served as construction engineer for nuclear construction at Callaway Nuclear Plant, near Fulton, Mo. He held a series of supervisory posts for the start-up of the plant, before being named superintendent of start-up in 1984. He became manager, Nuclear Operations Support in 1986, at the plant; in 1991, Mr. Naslund was named manager, Nuclear Engineering, where he led the engineering organization for seven continuous years of superior Nuclear Regulatory Commission ratings for the Callaway Plant.
A native of Victoria, Ill., he holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla. He has earned credits toward a master’s degree in engineering management from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Mr. Naslund is a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers and the Missouri Society of Professional Engineers where he served one term as chairman of the energy subcommittee. He served on the Electric Power Research Institute Nuclear Power Council and the Operations and Maintenance Target Steering Committee.
